Your chiropractic marketing strategy depends on your website, as that’s oftentimes the first thing that patients will see about your practice. A great chiropractic website presence can turn site visitors into new patients. A poor web presence can leave a bad impression that might be impossible to fix.
We get a lot of requests for our Free Chiropractic Website Review service, and so we have a chance to see a lot of sites. The most common reason that doctors contact us is because their site isn’t ranking well in Google and Bing. The second most common problem is that site visitors aren’t becoming new patients.
We’ve noticed some common problems that crop up with chiropractic sites, and we thought it would be helpful to share our findings with everyone. Here’s what we’ve found:
#1: The dreaded duplicate content penalty
This is a very common problem and we see it in a lot of chiropractic websites, even those by “professional” chiropractic website companies. If you have content on your site that’s also on other chiropractic sites, Google will hit you with this penalty. In short, when you have the same content as dozens or even hundreds of other sites, Google is going to demote your site.
The solution: Make sure that you remove any content that is “borrowed” from other sites and replace it with original articles or blog posts.

2. Introduce yourself!
Your chiropractic website gives you about 30 seconds to show the patient who you are and why they should call you for an appointment.
On so many chiropractic sites, we see a sparse (or non-existent) “About the Doctor” page. If you can’t take the time to write up a page on who you are and how you can help, why should a patient choose you for their health issue?
3. Use video
Video is the best way to educate and entertain patients on your site. It’s also a great way to introduce yourself (see #2, above) to your potential patient. A short, one-minute video on your site can show your patients that you’re trustworthy and knowledgeable.
Even best, use a video on every page of your site. That way, if a patient finds your site through some other page than your home page, there’s an educational video there to show them why they should give you a call.
We provide a complete library of chiropractic videos that are included with our ChiroHosting service or can be used on your existing chiropractic website with our ChiroNexus service.
In addition, we have some free chiropractic videos that you can add to your website today.
4. Integrate your site with social media
You simply can’t ignore Facebook and Google+. Facebook’s new Graph Search means that a strong Facebook presence with your site is going to make it easier for patients to find you on the most popular social media site.
Connecting your chiropractic site with Google+ is becoming more and more important with each Google update. Google is in the process of building their social media network and their plan is to connect search with Google+. Make sure that you have your site verified with Google+ and that you’re sharing your site content and blog with Google+.
5. Get a real blog
A blog is a proven effective way to boost your site’s ranking in the search engines. It’s an easy way to:
- Share content on your social media accounts
- Target specific key phrases
- Keep your site active and dynamic. Google likes fresh content. Keep Google happy!
Many doctors don’t have the time or interest in blogging, and our Chiropractic Blogging Service is a great way to take care of this automatically.
Because your site is so important to your success, you can’t afford to drop the ball. A strong web presence means good search engine ranking and new patients.
